Senior NVH Engineer will development and influence the design for the HVAC system for our Electric Vehicle project for Dyson.

As part of the £2.5 billion investment, Dyson acquired a 650 acre plot in Hullavington. This former Royal Air Force base, just five miles from Dyson HQ, will increase our UK footprint tenfold. We’ll be turning old hangars into futuristic labs and workspaces – creating a campus to rival those in Silicon Valley.

Function Overview

We’ve begun work on a battery electric vehicle – that’s no secret. It has remained our ambition to solve the worldwide problem of air pollution for nearly 30 years. Now that we have the ability to bring all our technologies together into a single product, we’re able to solve this problem at the source. For now, it’s all about finding the right people to make it all happen for 2020.


You will;

Support the NVH development and influence the design for the HVAC system

Organise and manage testing / benchmarking

Support NVH simulation strategy for the HVAC system based on 1D system model and 3D simulation

Manage the target book, the target cascade and track status

Report to top level management


You will;

Have good general NVH knowledge (signal processing, measurement, system modelling)

Good understanding on duct acoustic, fan noise, jet noise, rotor dynamics induced noise and vibration isolation

Understanding of flow dynamics, fan performance and vehicle integration

Measurement capability: Aeroacoustics rig, anechoic chamber (Pulse / LMS equivalent), two port method

IT / CAE skills: Matlab, Simulink, COMSOL (or equivalent like ANSYS), Altair suite (or equivalent, like Actran, LMS Virtual Lab, NASTRAN), CAA (Computational Aero-Acoustic) will be a plus (Powerflow, StarCCM+, NUMECA, Fluent)

Driving license, proving ground license will be a plus
