Function Overview

It’s one thing to solve a problem that’ll change technology forever. Our Manufacturing department supports over 1,000 Dyson engineers worldwide turning ideas into groundbreaking technology. Involved early in the design, we identify materials, pre-empt production issues and find ways to build more efficiently. Yet robustly. From designing the machines, to the machines that build the machines, we’re helping to shape the future of technology.

Accountabilities

The Role:

  • At least Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must have strong willingness to learn new things and challenge the existing production method
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • To review the product and process design for new products to be introduced to PH CMs to ensure process and product quality meets Dyson’s requirements
  • Perform process engineering analysis and feasibility studies review of paint automation equipment of the CMs,
  • Develop the Standard that Suppliers has to adhered to when developing new Paint and Tampo Printing materials
  • Technical liaison with external suppliers and internal departments
  • Ensure that required documentation (equipment specifications, process flow) is created and released in a timely manner to allow efficient design progress.
  • Support ongoing production needs with painting, tampo printing development, engineering and jigs and fixtures changes
  • Suggest and implement improvements needed for production
  • Discuss with suppliers about jig designs

Skills

  • A least 5-years’ experience with plastic parts painting and tampo printing handling operations, process engineering and quality
  • Problem solving under stressful situations.
  • Must be organized and able to manage multiple activities at one time.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Bachelor degree in a technical engineering discipline (ME, ChE, Chemistry) or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with paint application, tampo printing process and equipment.
  • Experience with process and new product qualification.
  • Preferably with experience on paint chemistries and color approval
