Are you fascinated by the impact of machine learning of consumer products? In this role, you will facilitate and drive projects, influencing a multi-disciplinary team of engineers who are researching new technologies and components that will be an instrumental part of Dyson's next generation products.

Market Overview:

Dyson HQ is home to over 3,500 people who work across a medley of engineering and commercial functions. The award winning campus has three cafes, a sports centre and a number of engineering icons including our Harrier and Lightning jets – one of which hangs from the ceiling of our café. Based in Malmesbury, the campus is within easy reach of both the Cotswolds and cities like Bath and Bristol along the M4 corridor.

Function Overview:

The PMO at Dyson work alongside our engineers and designers, driving teamwork across categories and the developing and sharing of improvements in ways of working. You will lead communications with senior management and be comfortable in challenging the paradigm where required. There may also be opportunities to project manage external research/development partners.


  • Influence and lead on the use of development processes, good engineering practice and discipline to deliver a fully resolved solution
  • Craft an environment where new ideas can be recognised and put in to practice
  • Challenge concepts so that optimum design is achieved within the boundaries of time, specification and cost, maintain and manage the Risk, Action & Issue List (RAIL) tracker
  • You'll communicate between teams within the research and development organisations to ensure effective and timely input; resolve conflicts and lead solutions
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure new technologies maximise the performance of new products
  • You will be active and hands-on in your role, ensuring that all engineering problems are resolved
  • Be responsible for the approach, quality and accuracy of the team’s work


  • Technical Degree qualified (software discipline preferable) or equivalent
  • Formal Project Management training/ qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of Agile project management methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Outstanding project management capabilities (i.e. estimating and planning, risk management, status reporting, budget tracking, benefits analysis, people partnerships and communication, resource management)
  • Strong communicator; ability to convey complex issues concisely and accurately Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build productive working relationships and influence
  • Analytical skills; able to assess problems thoroughly and drive logical conclusions
  • Confident; comfortable with interacting with senior executives without being tempted to dilute unpleasant news or back down from well-reasoned analysis
  • Credible; ability to demonstrate a good level of understanding of engineering processes in order to work with design teams throughout the project development cycle
