Senior Structural Analysis Engineer
To provide analytical insight and direction based on sound structural, mechanical and physical interpretation of data and resolution of problems faced by our design team.
You will be able to prove you have the ability to drive designs forward based on sound engineering knowledge and to ensure correct decisions are taken at all stages of the design process.
Working within a small team of likeminded engineering problem solvers you will be responsible for the application of fundamental physical theories and pragmatic methods to provide mechanical understanding and insight, ultimately providing brilliant products to the business.
Delivery of concise accurate results - these maybe as a result of a computational simulation, a hand calculation or an experimental test.
Articulating results either in report form or as a presentation is an important part of this role as your work will be steering designs and informing cross functional decisions within the team. The work is principally based around assessing the structural integrity of parts but also manufacturability (DFM) and injection moulding part science using predictive methods are integral to the role.
A first degree in mechanical engineering BEng. MEng. A PhD would be desirable but not essential.
Experience in an engineering company or consultancy, this vacancy would suit someone looking for their second or third position post graduation. For a senior applicant we would expect at least 5 years experience.
Demonstrable competence in the use and application of CAD & CAE tools in general but specifically the ANSYS, MoldFlow and NX suite of products.
Knowledge and experience of coupled physics analysis, especially in the solution of thermo-mechanical problems is desirable.
A highly driven individual who strives for accurate results in every aspect of your work.
The proven ability to work as part of a team or un-supervised to an agreed goal or set of deliverables is imperative.
A clear logical thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
