Description and Requirements

The Senior Technical Analyst is responsible for driving and delivering a range of improvements within the Global RDD Electronics team. The improvements are directly related to the product development and  the core engineering process to get a design from concept to manufacture

Market Overview:

Our Singapore story began in 2004 and today we have more than 1000 people working here. At the beginning of 2017 we opened our new, state of the art, Singapore Technology Centre in Science Park I, minutes from Singapore’s technology and start-up community. This new Technology Centre houses some of Dyson’s most advanced facilities including Robotics and Sensors laboratories and Smart Home, Connectivity & Mobile Applications laboratories as well as an Advanced Control Tower with the latest technology to develop its analytics-driven activities.

Not too far away is our Advanced Manufacturing Centre, our flagship advanced motor manufacturing facility where we develop our autonomous robotic manufacturing capabilities – more than 300 robots assemble our Dyson Digital Motor (DDM) here. It is here that we develop our next generation of motor technology.

Function Overview:

The RDD Optimisation team work with  representatives from global teams across the company to relentlessly improve everything we do. With many new product categories on the way, our Optimisation team needs to be more effective than ever. This team plays a vital role in supporting Dyson's future technology and to ensure our internal development process are as world leading as the products we sell.


Process Owner & Stakeholder collaboration:
  • Identifying and assessing improvement areas & supporting the future strategy within the processes we own
  • Ensuring that the processes and solutions meet the global requirements of the business
  • Incorporating industry leading practices into the tools, processes, and / or systems as appropriate

Process Improvement:

  • Leading scoping and delivery of optimization activities using process improvement tools and engineering knowledge
  • Conducting project management for optimization activities, including stakeholder, risk and change management responsibilities
  • Leading process design workshops / activities with relevant senior sponsors, end user and IT representatives.
  • Conducting pilots to refine any planned updates to tools, processes or systems
  • Delivering deployment activities for any process and / or system changes.
  • Capable of managing and developing direct reports

Process Adherence:

  • Working with the RDD and IT to implement integration of development and manufacturing systems
  • Capturing and communicating benefits delivered optimization activities

User Support & Training:

  • Working with the technical training team, to develop and support delivery of training related to Electronics process improvements
  • Providing end user support to maximize business adoption of deployed tools, processes and systems
  • Collaborating closely with other team members to share good practice and represent the wider business processes that the optimization team supports


Background and Experience:
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in electronic hardware engineering delivering solutions (preferably hardware however firmware experience is applicable) engineering role with hands-on experience of at least 3 of the following core processes
    • Systems Engineering
    • DFMEA & Risk Management
    • Bug & Issue Management
    • Release and Change Management
    • Verification & Validation Management
    • Quality Assurance
