Function Overview:

We’ve begun work on a battery electric vehicle – that’s no secret. It has remained our ambition to solve the worldwide problem of air pollution for nearly 30 years. Now that we have the ability to bring all our technologies together into a single product, we’re able to solve this problem at the source. For now, it’s all about finding the right people to make it all happen for 2020.


Core Responsibilities: You will be develop and validate libraries of vehicle systems and sub-systems and create entire vehicle models for a range of applications. You will also undertake simulation studies to assist in the development of vehicles, primarily in the fields of control and system integration, but possibly also for other disciplines (e.g. assisting with suspension design). 

Day to Day Duties: 

•Work with other control systems group members to provide vehicle system and sub-system models for use in control design and integration studies. 

•Work with members of other teams, including design teams, to provide models and simulation studies to answer questions arising from the design and operation of vehicles. 

•Duties will involve working in a quality control framework and in a safety related system development process (ISO 26262).


•Strong understanding of Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow. 
•Strong understanding of modelling principles, including modelling of complex physical systems. 
•Understanding of Modelica/Dymola highly desirable. 
•Good communication and report writing skills. •Experience of mathematical modelling. 
•Automotive sector experience (OEM/Motorsport/consultancy) desirable. •Experience of dSpace rapid control prototyping desirable. 
•A good degree in Engineering, including a significant element of modelling of dynamic systems. 
 •Ph.D. desirable, but not essential.
