Social media is about telling Dyson stories. It’s a channel where we’re able explain our ethos, philosophy and Dyson spirit, not just a place to sell vacuum cleaners. Its aim is to excite and empower our social audience about the Theatre of Science, Engineering and Technology. It helps people to understand what makes Dyson tick, and therefore why we’re better than the competition, and worth the investment. And ultimately, it encourages people to share their own stories and content about Dyson – building a community of like-minded people with the same passion for good design, engineering and technology.

 The Social Media Specialist will develop, lead and implement social media channels for Dyson in Spain & Portugal.

Market Overview

At Dyson, we never stand still. It’s the entrepreneur in us. By 2020, there will be 100 new machines, four new product portfolios and our headcount will have doubled – giving you lots to talk about. As a PR Executive, you’ll share with the media what goes on behind our research and development doors. So that everyone will be as excited about what we’re doing, as we are. 

Function Overview

Free. Global. Impartial. Done well, social media is our most powerful marketing and PR tool. But understanding what our customers will share, while staying true to what makes Dyson tick is a delicate balance. So the Dyson Social Media team is rapidly building potent content strategies and a network of bloggers and online influencers excited about Dyson technology. They’re tapping into the zeitgeist with PR teams across the world. Experimenting relentlessly to test results and harnessing new opportunities to interact. Soon, our customers’ feedback on social media will even shape our product development.


Create a monthly/annual social media calendar including all the posts
Providing engagement content including text, image and video
Segment and targeting to deliver more relevant message to commercially appealing audience
Create local content (I.e. invites to events, contests, special dates, promotional campaigns, etc)
Shoot and post Facebook Live videos and pictures during events
Manage sponsor content on Instagram and work together with Group in the Global Instagram Account (@DysonHair)
Monthly tracking & analysis
Developing clear KPIs, measuring, analyzing and acting timely on results
Supervise Social Media Customer Service and be the main point of contact with our customer services to inform them about special dates, promos. Answer comments and question on YouTube
Coordinate with Marketing, PR and Communications teams to ensure brand consistency
Ensure alignment between global direction and local implementation.


The ideal candidate will be results driven and organized; a self-starter who sees things to completion and energetic in their approach with an entrepreneurial flair. We are also looking for;

High level of communication skills both verbal and written (in English & Spanish)
Creative and proactive person
Stay up-to-date with digital technology trends

Excellent knowledge of all Social Media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
