As the Statutory accountant, you will support the delivery of the year end reporting cycle, and the Dyson Group’s published financial statements. Additionally you will support the delivery of an efficient and robust month end process for Board reporting, leveraging your strong organisational skills and attention to detail. This is a maternity cover position for 9-12 months.

Function Overview

The Group Reporting team is at the heart of Dyson’s Finance Community.  We deliver all of Dyson’s global financial reporting and inevitably that involves us in anything and everything happening around the business.  It’s exciting and fast paced.

Accountabilities

The learning curve will be steep and you’ll have to draw on your ability to understand and put into practice some complex processes and analysis.

You will support the Senior Statutory Accountant in the delivery of the year end reporting cycle, and will be an integral part of the statutory reporting process from end to end. You will build strong rapport and collaborate with the finance teams across the Group.  We depend on these global finance teams to deliver the financials that make up our consolidated group results.


Core responsibilities will include:
-    Perform accurate and timely monthly statutory accounting processes
-    Prepare Group monthly cash flow statement, balance sheet and board pack
-    Advise on and resolve technical accounting queries
-    Planning and preparation of Group year-end timetable
-    Prepare UK entity and consolidated statutory accounts, maintaining good relationship with the audit team, tax, treasury and transfer pricing team.
-    Advise and contribute on projects that impact the statutory reporting team and wider group reporting team
-    Prepare half yearly bank reporting

Skills

Essential:
  • Qualified accountant (2-4 years PQE ideal)
  • Strong financial and/or statutory accounting and analysis experience
  • Strong academic background
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel

Key Competencies:
  • Flexible in approach with strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • An aptitude to develop systems and processes in order to drive efficiencies in the month end and year end reporting cycle
  • The ability to work to strict reporting deadlines
  • High levels of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly understand and put into practice complex ideas and processes

Desirable:
  • Previous experience of SAP and Onestream would be advantageous, but not essential
