Supply Chain & Logistics, Summer Internship
At Dyson, our internships are about getting hands-on from day one. Not getting bored. In fact, our interns often get to share their ideas with our senior leaders and management. Whichever area you join we’ll support your development, helping you understand the business and grow into the role. And the rest is up to you. Most importantly, if you make the most of the opportunity, we’ll look to make a Graduate offer of employment for when you complete your degree.
In 2000, Dyson moved production from the UK to Malaysia to be closer to our supply chains and open up international growth. The small team of 10 has now grown to almost 1,200 – forming Dyson’s second biggest global hub. Located in the exhilarating industrial heart of Johor, it’s also home to RDD, IT, operations, finance, creative and HR. The RDD facility is central to our plans to launch 100 new machines in the next four years. To meet these ambitions, we recently expanded the site to 30,000m², with 50 advanced technology labs and 700 new engineers. In the Dyson world, there’s no more exciting place to be.
It’s one thing to solve a problem that will change technology forever. But getting our innovative technology into the hands of consumers across the globe is an entirely different challenge. Our supply chain and logistics teams works with retail partners, vendors and Dyson teams across the globe to forecast, analyse and track delivery of final products. Tenacity perfectly describes our supply chain and logistics teams as they have worked to be high-performing even under unexpected and challenging situations.
You won’t just be an intern, you’ll be a key member of the Dyson team. You can expect to be tasked with project(s) that capitalize on your existing skills and stretch you out of your comfort zone. Your daily responsibilities will differ depending on the team you are on and the variety of business-critical projects means that no two roles will be alike. We will have opportunities for interns in Supply Chain and Planning, Logistics and Business process teams.
The internship programme is competitive so you’ll need to be academically strong and have the right to work in the country of your application. You’ll be studying a relevant degree to this role or have studied modules that provide an understanding of the practise and theories of this vital business function.
Dyson Malaysia monitors the market to ensure we offer competitive salaries, management bonuses and pension contributions. Beyond that, you’ll enjoy generous leave and medical care and insurance. But financial benefits are only the start of a career at Dyson. Leadership support and new opportunities abound, driven by regular dialogue and international training. And with a vibrant culture, the latest devices and a relaxed dress code reflecting our engineering spirit, it’s an exciting team environment geared to progress, innovation and realising ambition
