This role will be responsible for implementing and delivering sales driving activities and brand advocacy for the entire Dyson product line at QVC to ensure that we exceed our sales targets.

Function Overview

Our Retail Sales teams epitomize the entrepreneurial spirit that has defined Dyson since day one: ambitious, commercially savvy, and strategically agile. We work with some of the world’s biggest retailers, implementing the most profitable long term business plans and driving innovative ways to put our technology into more hands. It requires managing multiple networks of Dyson people. And overseeing many different retail areas - from in store fixtures to online activation. It takes ownership, courage and tough negotiations. Being constantly driven to see clearer solutions and drive better sales

Accountabilities

  • Effectively present entire Dyson product line on-air at QVC corporate headquarters in West Chester, PA during scheduled air time
  • Demonstrate best in class ability to communicate, present, and persuade consumers on how Dyson’s technology solutions satisfy customer’s needs
  • Display strong ability to present in a live on-air environment with a “quick on your feet” mentality
  • Work with the QVC show host to make sure that he/she is briefed on the Dyson product to be offered during showing
  • Flawlessly execute on-air demos and each individual presentation for all Dyson products
  • Effectively manage all pre show activities (props, displays, demo products, makeup time) in order to maximize time spent with QVC host prior to airing
  • Work with QVC planning and production staff to optimize air time and brand presence
  • Work with QVC production staff to make sure that they are briefed on all Dyson products offered to QVC for airings
  • Work with QVC production staff to optimize Dyson’s on-air brand presence, including optimizing the set and developing best-in-class on-air demonstrations
  • Manage 3rd party Prop Specialist to make sure that all demo materials meet Dyson’s brand standards and are ready for on-air presentation
  • Obtain as many airings as possible
  • Acquire airings at times that have the largest viewership
  • Gain as many minutes per airing as possible
  • Collaborate with Dyson National Account Manager to grow Dyson’s business at QVC
  • Work with the Dyson National Account Manager to fully understand QVC’s sales goals for individual airings
  • Report airing results and sales analysis to the Dyson National Account Manager at the end of each airing / TSV day
  • Work with Dyson’s marketing and engineering teams to become an expert on Dyson products and brand standards, and to develop best-in-class on-air presentations (involves quarterly visits to Dyson’s Chicago office headquarters)
  • Assist the broader team with ordering product samples, vetting product claims, and other on-air preparation as needed.
  • Train relevant QVC employees on the Dyson product line
  • Attend QVC vendor fairs to demonstrate and train on the Dyson product line
  • Train QVC call center staff on the features and benefits of the Dyson product line
    Fulfill other duties as required
  • Relish the opportunities to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role
  • Ability to take initiative, think outside of the box, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Identify problems and find solutions
    Other Requirements
  • Must have ability to be on set at the request of QVC channel within 3-24 hours of notification
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook
  • Ability to travel (overnight stays required)
  • Full driver’s license with good driving record
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Skills

  • HS Diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree preferred
  • 1+ years of experience being on camera or stage OR 1+years of work experience at Dyson
  • On-air shopping channel experience preferred
  • Experience in a broadcast environment highly desirable
  • Experience in a sales role highly desirable
  • Comfortable in front of a live camera presenting to over millions of homes
  • Effectively communicate the English language to present Dyson product to viewers across the United States
  • Ability to persuade the viewer to make a purchase
  • Ability to build strong business relationships
  • Ability to adjust quickly to a live television environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain an extensive understanding of industry specific products
  • Good understanding of retail business and strategies
  • Ability to understand the Dyson brand and uphold it’s integrity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
