Market Overview

In 2000, Dyson moved production from Malmesbury to Malaysia to be closer to our supply chains and open up international growth. The small team of 10 has now grown to almost 1,200 – forming Dyson’s second biggest global hub. Located in the exhilarating industrial heart of Johor, it’s also home to RDD, IT, operations,  finance, creative and HR.
The RDD facility is central to our plans to launch 100 new machines in the next four years. To meet these ambitions, we recently expanded the site to 30,000m², with 50 advanced technology labs and 700 new engineers. In the Dyson world, there’s no more exciting place to be.

Function Overview

It’s one thing to solve a problem that’ll change technology forever. Our manufacturing team supports over 1,000 Dyson engineers worldwide turning ideas into groundbreaking technology. Involved early in the design, they identify materials, pre-empt production issues and find ways to build more efficiently and robustly. From designing the machines, to the machines that build the machines, they help shape the future of technology.

Accountabilities

Job Description:

 

  • Provide support to the electronic design team to define manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Provide expertise for PCBA manufacturing issues during NPI and mass production builds at the contract manufacturers.
  • Drive continuous improvement at the PCBA manufacturing working with the contract manufacturers through process optimization.
Accountabilities :
  • PCBA NPI launches with high yields and balanced process.

  • Solving of PCBA manufacturing issues during NPI and reducing failures at the HLA.

  • Provide expertise and solution to address PCBA quality issues.

  • Continuous improvement to reduce cost or improve efficiency. 

    Skills

    Experience required :
    • Degree in Electronics or Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
    • 5 - 7 years experience as an process engineer in a PCBA manufacturing environment.
    • Expertise in SMT manufacturing from paste printing to testing.
    • Experienced in conformal coating , paralyn coating , epoxy gluing and auto soldering processes and equipment setup and commissioning.
