Team Leader

Seani, Johor- Malaysia

Develop new or revise current assembly/test methods to improve effectiveness and efficiency

Market Overview

In 2000, Dyson moved production from Malmesbury to Malaysia to be closer to our supply chains and open up international growth. The small team of 10 has now grown to almost 1,200 – forming Dyson’s second biggest global hub. Located in the exhilarating industrial heart of Johor, it’s also home to RDD, IT, operations,  finance, creative and HR.
The RDD facility is central to our plans to launch 100 new machines in the next four years. To meet these ambitions, we recently expanded the site to 30,000m², with 50 advanced technology labs and 700 new engineers. In the Dyson world, there’s no more exciting place to be.

Function Overview

It’s one thing to solve a problem that’ll change technology forever. But turning that idea into a reality involves solving many more problems – and success is ultimately measured, not by the thinking, but by the machine. Our manufacturing team supports over 1,000 Dyson engineers worldwide turning ideas into groundbreaking technology. Involved early in the design, they identify materials, pre-empt production issues and find ways to build more efficiently and robustly. From designing the machines, to the machines that build the machines, they help shape the future of technology.

  • Develop and maintain a project development budget that includes parts, equipment and external professional services for assigned projects

  • Identify internal and external resources required to support the product development schedule; work with department management to ensure that these resources are assigned to the project

  • Ensure that required documentation (equipment specifications, process flow) is created and released in a timely manner to allow efficient design progress.

  • Keep HOD informed on progress of project, with agreed periodicity

  • Identify training needs of team members
