The Technical Security Systems Integrator, reports through to the Technical Security Systems Design Manager in the Dyson Technical Security Team. The Team reports through to the UK Head of Security and works in partnership with the Security Operations Manager. The Team is geographically positioned at the Malmesbury Security Centre of Excellence.

Function Overview

Dyson Group Security has the responsibility for delivering security best practice across the global footprint. The physical security of property assets is a key element of ensuring Dyson people, commercial assets and reputation are sufficiently protected to meet the strategic Blue print.

Accountabilities

  • Integration of the Dyson technical security solution at the Malmesbury Security Centre of Excellence including; CCTV IP and analogue infrastructure, access control platforms, intruder detection systems (IDS), other early warning systems
  • Configuring, building, integrating, and maintaining physical security servers in the  operational environment
  • Conducting security system commissioning, globally if directed.
  • Optimizing the technical performance and capacity characteristics of security system operating environments to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Performing system installations, refreshes, and upgrades
  • Performing high-level root cause analysis for service interruptions and creating preventive measures. Delivering a technical security response capability for incidents and unexpected activities
  • Communicating with key stakeholders, including business customers, managers and end users.
  • Project participation as directed, including security installation elements, either directly or through a 3rd party partner or local service provider, to ensure implementation delivery on time
  • Ensuring quality and integrity of installation / integration at the Malmesbury site and globally as directed
  • Provide train-the-trainer sessions on new procedures and techniques to 1st line system users for effective operation
  • Keeping abreast of technological solutions. Attending IFSEC and other associated conferences as directed
  • Developing an effective relationship with key security dependency partners; namely IT and Maintenance
  • Supporting the Technical Security Systems Design Manager with developing conceptual designs

Service Monitoring:
  • Conducting of weekly site audits in order to ensure an ISO 31000 technical security minimum standard is maintained
  • Review and make recommendations to maintain / improve security systems, maintaining accurate records and drawings as required.

Administration:

  • Aligning with the Dyson behaviours, code of ethics and other Dyson working practices
  • Maintain accurate and effective system documentation
  • Exercising cost control to assure good Team financial governance

Skills

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • 17th Edition Electrical Certification, NVQ Level 3 and JIB Certified Electrician (Desirable)
  • An understanding of Electronic and electrical principles
  • A working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers
  • External team, stakeholder management skills
  • Fire systems and relevant regulations experience
  • Certified Intruder Alarm Installer
  • Locksmith experience (Desirable)
  • Sound working knowledge of managed network infrastructure specifically Cisco
  • Strong knowledge and experience of installation and maintenance of IP based CCTV
  • Experienced in the set-up of CCTV analytics systems
  • Skilled in hardware integration techniques
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in installing and maintaining access control systems S2, C-Cure, Lenel or Honeywell preferred
  • Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload in a fast changing environment
  • Understanding of Security compliance requirements and asset management in buildings
  • Resourceful and innovative approach to resolving challenges
  • Strong computer skills with competency in Microsoft Office applications and database packages
  • 3D/2D Computer aided design and manufacture
