The Warehouse Business Manager works closely with Dyson’s 3rd party warehouses to ensure that customer guidelines are followed and damages are minimized through process improvements and continuous improvement methods.

Function Overview

Logistics supports the organization through detailed logistical analysis and reporting. It is the role of the Logistics function to ensure customer logistical compliance, provide operational support to Dyson’s third party logistics providers, and to provide support for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) between Dyson, our customers, and our warehouses. Logistics also helps investigate and resolve customer accounts receivable disputes.

Accountabilities

Ensure transportation equipment (trucks, intermodal containers) are loaded properly as to minimize damage and increase efficiency.  Ensure third party warehouses are complying with customer requirements in regards to customer guidelines, manifest accuracies and improved order-fill ratios.

 

Essential Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ·         Review 3rd party warehouse operations and look for and initiate continuous improvement projects
  • ·         Provide logistics operational support for special projects executed with Dyson’s 3rd party logistics providers
  • Work cross-functionally with Dyson internal teams to determine the scope, timing and requirements of a project
  • Document all steps in the project and determine an estimated labor cost for the execution of the project
  • Review project with 3rd party warehouses to ensure plan is properly executed, timelines are met, and project is completed in line with the budget
  • Recap status of all current and upcoming projects to warehouses and Dyson’s internal management
  • Provide support for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) between Dyson, our customers, and third party warehouses

·        Investigate EDI issues resulting from syntax errors and other routine problems

·        Assist local and UK EDI team with investigation and resolution of technical issues

·         Audit logistics reports for validity and reasonableness; identify potential problems and proactively formulate solutions

·         Investigate and help resolve customer Accounts Receivable disputes

·        Assist the Accounts Receivable department with logistics and compliance investigations

·        Document changes to customer requirements and educate the appropriate parties to prevent repeat violations

  • Ongoing communication of service requirements and high level of accountability with respect to logistics service providers
  • Develop strong working relationships with suppliers and associations to create and implement innovative solutions
  • Enhance service by improving on time shipping and accurate order fill ratio's
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Prerequisites

  •          Bachelor’s degree required
  •          3-5 years of warehouse or logistics experience
  •          Strong computer skills, including MS excel and SAP
  •          Minimum of 50% of time will be spent on-site at Dyson’s 3rd party warehouses
