The role holder is responsible for providing competent H&S advice, support and assistance, within the scope of the position,


This role will also be responsible for operational H&S support within our Retail and Service Centre locations, in partnership with the Global EHS Manager (Retail and Events).


The role holder will also contribute to and implement the Global H&S strategy within this area of responsibility, and wider (as required).

About the role

In the context of the scope of this role:

  • Be the subject matter expert / primary point of contact, for all operational H&S management enquiries, advice, support, training, coaching and incidents. This will be enhanced through frequent and effective engagement & communication with the relevant management teams. 

  • Develop and deliver innovative and engaging H&S training.

  • Partner with the Global Head of Fire Safety to ensure a robust approach to fire life safety is adopted throughout.

  • Monitor all related H&S incidents. Provide assistance and support to managers and where necessary personally investigate serious H&S incidents to identify underlying causes; recording findings and recommendations. 

  • Contribute, manage and maintain (but not limited to): the Global H&S Management System, Global Incident Reporting System, the ENHESA legislation tool, LMS, Global H&S SharePoint site. 

  • Contribute to and implement the Global H&S Internal assurance program, ensuring Dyson’s H&S Standards are implemented.

  • Partner with internal and external auditors/inspectors to ensure that support is provided to facilitate the close out of H&S actions.

  • Liaise with Human Resources advisors on Occupational Health issues and advising on referrals.  

  • Provide timely advice, assistance and partnership to the Retail PMO team throughout the PMO life cycle.

  • In partnership with the Global H&S Manager (Retail and Events):

      • In partnership with the Global H&S Manager (Retail & Events) support the retail product design / fixtures and fittings team to ensure an end to end H&S risk management process is established and maintained.


      • In partnership with the Global H&S Manager (Retail & Events) support the retail product design / fixtures and fittings team to ensure an end to end H&S risk management process is established and maintained.

    • Build and manage relationships with external regulators.


    • Undertake any other role related task as outlined by the Global H&S Director.

    • Support the Retail Operations / market team’s / Retail training team / Centre of Excellence teams to ensure H&S Policy and Procedures is fully integrated, understood and implemented.  This is to include support to the integration of H&S into current system where possible (e.g. Retail Store Manger, Retail Training App).

About you



  • 5 years (min) experience preferably within a fast paced, and evolving workplace.

  • A thorough understanding of Retail H&S Management (essential).

  • Understanding of H&S legal frameworks in within Gtr China and Rest of APAC, and have the ability and resourcefulness to determine the practical application of the requirements.

  • Demonstrable experience of working in partnership with enforcement officers.

  • Languages:


    • English (essential).

    • Mandarin (essential).



Qualifications / Professional Memberships:


  • Educated to degree level.

  • A recognised H&S qualification*

    (At least level 5, preferably level 6).

  • Demonstrable continuing professional development (CPD).



* Or actively working towards for exceptional candidates with significant experience and/or qualification.





      • Whilst ensuring Dyson maintains legal compliance and works towards best practice, the role holder will need to demonstrate flexibility in their approach and maintain a proactive can do attitude, and works towards the success of the whole Dyson team and not just the functional area.


      • The ability to ensure H&S interventions that are proportionate to the risk and cost effective.


      • Be an ambassador, vocal advocate, influencer and presence for H&S management.


      • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to build a network of connections both internally and externally.


      • Ability to work sensitively, discretely, and effectively across Dyson.
